Nollywood actress Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy, has been denied bail and ordered to remain in prison custody until November 28, following his arraignment in court on Thursday.
The development was confirmed by his brother, Sweezy, who took to social media to share updates about the case, which is allegedly connected to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
In a video posted online, Sweezy expressed concern over the poor conditions Sammy has faced while in police custody, revealing that the court refused to grant him bail during the hearing. He described the situation as unjust and called on Nigerians to speak out against what he termed as unfair treatment.
This comes after Sweezy previously accused Nwoko of being responsible for Sammy’s ordeal — an allegation the businessman has publicly denied, stating that he never filed any petition against the singer.
Adding to the family’s distress, Regina Daniels’ mother, Rita Daniels, also shared a viral photo of Sammy in detention, showing him seated in a dirty cell with visible bruises on his body.
The family continues to call for justice as the case draws widespread attention online.
