Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has shared a powerful testimony about how God reconciled her with her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, leading to his reunion with their son, King Andre.
In a heartfelt church testimony, Tonto said she endured “ten years of war, loneliness, public shame, and her son not knowing his father.” She added that the pain she experienced was not only personal but also affected many people around her.
Tonto explained how the reunion began when her son wrote a prayer request asking God to help the embassy release his passport to his mum. Upon seeing the request, Tonto said she realised it was time to tell her son the truth about the passport’s location, which was with Churchill.
“I had told my son that his passport was with one embassy. I had never told him the truth at all. The truth is that the passport was with his father and I and his father had been in a very very toxic demonic battle and it has been public,” she said.
To her surprise, two days after reading the prayer request, Churchill reached out and said he wanted to send their son’s documents, including the passport, to her.
This prompted Tonto to finally open up to her son about his father.
She said she sat him down and told him the truth, explaining that a man and a woman met, had him, and then their relationship turned into war. Her son responded by asking if she had forgiven his father.
Tonto said her son replied:
“If you haven’t forgiven him, I have forgiven him, but I am upset with you for not telling me.”
Tonto described the moment as life-changing, saying that 10 years of bitterness, hatred, and public shame dissolved in front of her child, and her son held her hands as she cried.
She revealed that she had been praying for Churchill and that even influential people had tried to intervene, but she resisted due to bitterness.
She added that she now addresses Churchill respectfully and speaks to him as a friend.
