It has been revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari is likely to
fire ministers who are not performing and are not loyal to his
administration at the Federal Executive meeting this week.
A hot name in the list is alleged to be that of the Minister of
Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Alhassan (Mama
Taraba) over her latest comment publicly supporting former vice
president, Atiku Abubakar.
Many people have called on Alhassan to resign as it is not possible
for her to support Atiku and still be a minister in Buhari’s administration. Ogun state Governor Ibikunle Amosun spoke out calling on
the Minister to honorably resign before it is too late.
On the matter of sacking other ministers, a report also revealed that President Buhari has given a thought to rejigging his
cabinet for effeciency and performance. However, a reliable source told
Daily Post that an “outright sack of ministers was in doubt.”
The source added:
“You know PMB has not really been in the
country this year; he might have reshuffled before now. But recent
episodes have raised the question of how much appointees are committed
to their job.
“But with the declaration by Mama Taraba, the president is
likely to remove those he feels have underperformed as well as those who
are not loyal.
“It is not really a hard task for him. He appointed all the
security heads, so all he needs to do is give directive for reports of
movements, meetings and calls made by his appointees”.
