Will Plateau Governor Lalong Win or Lose in 2019? – Pundits Perspectives

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, who has been termed
“the rescue ambassador”, may have to work harder if his ambition to be
returned, as the Governor of the state is to be achieved in 2019,
Pundits in the state have told REALITY NEWS.

According to their collective opined positions, the Governor has not
offered anything much in the past three (3) years to the expectation of
Plateau people.

“The old normal story you hear them speaks always is the payment of
salary, peace as a #tag each time they are sighted on social media. When
one further asks what these Governor’s achievements are, you are expose
to series of attacks by unrepentant praise singers, who only graphic
their data with one hand and grab the troubles in a struggles to defend
with the other hand.” Pundits told REALITY.

“The inability of the state governor to meet people displaced from
their home land and now living at Internally Displaced camps (IDP) is a
huge factor the governor must address before the polls slated for 2019.
His visit to people displaced by the recent attacks at anguldi in Jos
South Local Government Area of the state is just a window dressing of
the main solution to divert the electorate at that level to vote for him
if his ambition for 2019 is real and to be achieved.

“The rumoured fear by the Taroh Nation in Langtang North/South Local
Government Areas (LGAs) recently that their inherited lands might
allegedly be among the lands been marked for the establishment of
Ranches in the state, must be a focal issue to be also addressed. This
tribe has a huge voting power, after those of the Berom Nation.

“Speaking of the Berom Nation, the recent attackers by a group of
elders, suspected to be close to the Governor and his administration
blows no good wind, as their attacks on the people and their elders
would only show results at the polls. They may wish this away, but the
next 6 months would tell if the Governor does not personally dive into
the arena to resolve the face-off.

“The people of Miango in Basssa LGA cannot be left behind in this, as
they are still under the state of restriction, owing to the curfew that
was imposes by Lalong and still actively affecting their economic and
social lives every day.

“More worrisome is that, more candidates vying for the governorship
seat of the state come 2019 are mostly from Shendam LGA being the state
Governor’s Local Government. More also, other registered political
parties operating in the state have decided to zone their gubernatorial
candidates to emerge from the Southern Zone of the state. The inability
of the Governor’s political and strategic team to prevent this gale of
interests smells danger to the 2019 bid of Governor Lalong.” They added.
