
The Executive governor of plateau State, Rt. Hon Simon Bako Lalong went on an assessment visit to the students of university of Jos, Lalong
who was represented by the commissioner of youths assured the students
that government is working round the clock to ensure security is
restored on campus and other parts of the state. the Governor also
donated many bags of rice ,groundnut oil etc for the students. gov
Lalong says :
” the security of lives and property of every citizen is
sacred, the government condole and mourn the lost of the fallen comrade,
however, the government would do any thing to protect this state and
you all must have save space to read”
The SUG president comrade Pantu Fwanshak appreciate the governor for
the security he sent to the university, again the president plead that
the security of the permanent site should be revisited. in a similar
manner,the Dean of students affairs confirms the death of one student
and 2 others who are sustain injuries and currently hospitalized as
against the many media report making the News.
The vice chancellor, prof. S Maimako assured the students and staff
of safety, while explaining that the University is not closed because of
the security challenge, the V.C assured the students of continuation
of the semester soon as the security signal is cleared because the
university have suffered a lot with the calendar trying to stabilize.
The students who spoke to ViewpointNigeria,plead with the Federal
Government to clear all parks and communities around the University as
they constitute major thread to the university.
