An aide to the Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticised politician and ADC chieftain Dino Melaye for wearing a luxury designer outfit to the “Save Democracy” protest held in Abuja on April 8.
Ossai, who shared a photo of Melaye at the protest, alleged that the Fendi shirt worn by the former lawmaker costs as much as N2.5 million. He argued that such an amount could have been channelled into more impactful causes.
According to him, the money spent on the outfit could have been used to “create jobs for hundreds of youths,” stressing that public figures should be mindful of their choices, especially during events centred on national concerns.
The criticism has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting Ossai’s stance on responsible spending, while others defended Melaye’s right to personal expression.
