The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a support group of visited Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State to commiserate with victims of the recent Palm Sunday attacks and provide relief materials to affected families and residents.
The Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) is a nationwide civic engagement and grassroots mobilization movement in Nigeria. Launched in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The delegation, led by the Plateau State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Ernest Da’a, presented 300 bags of rice to victims, youths, elders, and members of the community during the visit held on Sunday June 14, 2026.

Addressing residents, Da’a said the gesture was on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of efforts to further comfort victims of the March 29, 2026 attack in Angwan Rukuba, which claimed several lives and left many injured and displaced.
According to him, the food palliative was a symbolic gesture of sympathy from the President and did not represent the full magnitude of the tragedy experienced by the community.
“I am here this afternoon with a token of support to the victims of the last crisis here in Angwan Rukuba. This food palliative is from the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
Da’a recalled that President Tinubu had earlier visited Plateau State shortly after the attacks to commiserate with victims and had also provided support as promised.
He disclosed that arrangements were ongoing to ensure identified victims benefit from additional support, while the current intervention was intended to help cushion the pains and hardship faced by residents.

Speaking on the security situation in the country, Da’a acknowledged that insecurity remained a major concern but noted that security agencies had made significant progress in addressing criminal activities.
He stated that several suspects linked to the attacks and other criminal activities had been arrested, including about 20 other commanders allegedly involved in various acts of violence across the nation.
According to him, through government efforts, thousands of criminals had also been neutralized or arrested, while several weapons had been recovered during security operations in various parts of Nigeria.
“Despite the progress made, we are not satisfied because the life of every Nigerian matters. We call on security agencies to continue putting in their best to ensure these criminal activities become a thing of the past,” he said.
Da’a further encouraged residents to remain hopeful and commended Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for ensuring that those responsible for insecurity are prosecuted.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the traditional council, the District Head of Nabor in Anaguta Chiefdom, HRH Bala Haruna Danpen, expressed appreciation to President Tinubu, Governor Caleb Mutfwang, and various organizations for identifying with the community during the difficult period.
He noted that the visit by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors demonstrated solidarity and concern for the people of Angwan Rukuba.
“We are so grateful to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for coming to Plateau State to commiserate with us. Today, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors also came to support us, and we appreciate this gesture greatly,” he said.
Danpen assured the delegation of the community’s support and cooperation in future engagements.

Also speaking on behalf of the youths, coordinating youth leader Samson Chiroma appreciated the delegation for the visit and called for proactive leadership and greater attention to the needs of young people in the community.
One of the victims, Laraba Yusuf, who spoke on behalf of families that lost loved ones during the attacks, described the incident as painful and devastating for the entire community.
She expressed gratitude to the President and government for remembering the victims and commended security agencies for the recent arrests linked to the attacks.
Yusuf also called for justice for affected families while appreciating the support provided to the community.
The visit featured interactions with victims, community leaders, youths, and residents as prayers were offered for peace and healing in the area.
