The Plateau State Government says its attention has been drawn to an alleged statement credited to an elderstateman, Ambassador Yahaya Kwande, alluding that state Governor Simon Lalong may defect to the People’s Democratic Party.
State Commissioner of information and communication Yakubu Dati in a press release via mail said there is no truth in the claim.
Dati said Governor Lalong who is the sole candidate of the All Progressive Party Governorship primaries, has never contemplated nor discussed such proposition with anyone.
The Commissioner therefore enjoined the public to dismiss the misleading plot which he said exists only in the imagination of it’s promoters.
He said the clarification became necessary so as not to mislead well meaning citizens who have expressed concern about the unwarranted story making the rounds###
