The Plateau State Government has called on residents and stakeholders to actively participate in the development of the Greater Jos Master Plan (2025–2050), aimed at transforming the state capital into a modern and sustainable city.

The call was made in a statement issued by the Plateau State Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, which announced a Stakeholder Engagement Forum scheduled for April 16, 2026, in Jos.

The forum, organized in collaboration with Max Lock Nigeria & Partners, will be held at the Millennium International Event Center and is expected to bring together government officials, private sector actors, community leaders, and residents.

According to the ministry, the engagement is a critical component of the master plan process, providing a platform for stakeholders to contribute ideas and perspectives that will shape the future development of Jos.

The Greater Jos Master Plan is a long-term strategic framework designed to reposition the city as a safer, better-organized, and economically vibrant urban centre. Key focus areas include infrastructure development, improved security, strengthened urban planning systems, and enhanced quality of life for residents.

The Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Sylvanus Dongtoe, emphasized the importance of inclusive participation, noting that the success of the plan depends on input from a wide range of stakeholders.

He urged members of the public to attend and actively engage in the discussions, stressing that their contributions would play a vital role in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future for Jos.

The stakeholder forum is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. prompt.
