The Benue State Police command has issued a press statement about arresting armed robbers dressed in military uniforms in Benue State.
PRESS RELEASE
1. ARREST OF AN ARMED ROBBER AND RECOVERY OF A ROBBED VEHICLE :
The
command has recovered a Toyota Highlander Jeep with reg no GBG 44 AA
which was robbed at gunpoint from the owner in his residence at Old
Assembly Quarters, Makurdi on 18/06/2017. SARS operatives trailed the
suspects to Obolloafor in Enugu State where one Mike Solomon Aondo was
arrested with the vehicle, efforts ongoing to arrest other members of
the gang.
2. RAIDS OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUT, ARRESTS AND RECOVERY OF
STOLEN PHONES: On 20/06/2017 based on a tip off, SARS operatives raided
a location at TIto Gate Gsm shops and arrested the following:
i. John Okpara
ii. Sunday Okori
iii. David Akogwu
iv. Anthony Emmanuel
v. Chia Wuese
vi. Ujor Paul
vii. Abdullahi Garba
viii. Lucky Onunze
ix. Tyolumun Samuel
x. Japheth Akabe all of various addresses in Makurdi for theft and receiving of stolen phones

ARRESTS OF ARMED ROBBERS: On the 14/06/2017 one Joseph John 18yrs and
Innocent Ejembi 20yrs both of Onyagede District of Ohimini LGA notorious
for armed robberies in that axis were arrested at a robbery scene
dressed in Army camouflage uniforms with a dummy gun which they use in
carrying out thier criminal acts. Suspects would soon be charged to
court.
