Nigerian gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has made history after becoming the first African artiste to record one billion views on his online channel.
The gospel minister achieved the milestone on his YouTube channel, Nathaniel Bassey Main, which has accumulated 1,014,544,577 views and over 5.24 million subscribers since its creation in 2011.
Some of his popular gospel songs, including Imela, You Are God and Onise Iyanu, have contributed to the channel’s impressive viewership over the years.
His widely celebrated online worship programme, the Hallelujah Challenge, which began in 2017, is also believed to have played a significant role in expanding his global reach and attracting millions of worshippers.
The achievement was recorded over the weekend, shortly after the conclusion of the 2026 edition of the Hallelujah Challenge.
Fans and supporters have since taken to social media to celebrate the milestone and congratulate the gospel singer on the achievement.
