Despite the fact that I disagree with the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Samuel Ortom on some aspects of his leadership methodology, there are other areas where I stand with him regardless of whose ox is gored.
The IGP Idris order to withdraw police men from IDP camps in Benue State is a clear declaration of war against Gov Ortom and the people of Benue State. Anybody who supports this unprofessional act by the IGP is truly an enemy of the people of Benue State.
The IGP has shown wanton indifference for the requirements of policing and exhibiting distressing levels of ineptitude in understanding the imperatives of police positive impact-driven reform. Yet, Buhari sees nothing wrong with him.
I am not against Ortom. For my love for the people of Benue State who are suffering due to non payment of salaries and bad governance, I just want Ortom to do the needful.
Once Ortom clears all backlog of salaries, bring back those unjustly sacked back on the payroll which I know many people affected by this, and put the interest of the people of Benue State above selfish interests, I will be on his side and no force will stop him for winning his re-election free and fair.
I put the interest of my Benue people above personal interest. That is why I commend Ortom where he has delivered and criticize him where he fails to deliver.
We can make Benue great again if we allow unity and collective interest to prevail over disunity and selfish political interest.
