Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has added another remarkable feat to her name after receiving her second Guinness World Record plaque — this time for cooking the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
According to Guinness World Records, the record was set during a Lagos cookout in September, where Hilda prepared a staggering 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof rice.
The new achievement comes more than a year after she earned her first Guinness title for completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon in May 2023.
With two official records to her credit, Hilda Baci becomes Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records, cementing her place as the country’s most decorated culinary icon.
Celebrating the milestone on social media, Hilda wrote:
“Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records — two of the biggest culinary records ever set. Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves — a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me!”
She also shared a Bible verse to express gratitude, quoting Isaiah 61:7:
“Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion… and everlasting joy will be yours.”
Fans and well-wishers have since flooded social media with congratulatory messages, celebrating Hilda’s historic double record achievement.
