Disney’s ‘Zombies’ Actress Carla Jeffery Dies at 33

American actress Carla Jeffery, best known for playing Bree in Disney Channel’s Zombies franchise, has died at the age of 33.

Jeffery died on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, according to a statement from her longtime talent management company, Alexanders Talent Management. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Her manager, Carla Alexander, announced the news in a statement, describing Jeffery as a talented and vibrant woman whose smile could light up any room.

Jeffery joined Alexanders Talent Management at the age of 12 and remained with the agency for more than two decades.

“As Bree in Disney’s hit Zombies franchise, Carla shared her joy, humor, and bright spirit with audiences around the world,” the agency said while announcing her death.

The agency also asked for privacy for Jeffery’s family and loved ones as they mourned her loss.

Jeffery was born on July 10, 1993, in Houston, Texas, and began her acting career as a child. Her first film role came in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, where she appeared alongside actress Mo’Nique.

She later featured in television productions including iCarly, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Southland, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up!, Scream Queens, American Vandal and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

However, she became widely known for portraying Bree, the bubbly Seabrook High cheerleader and best friend of Addison, in Disney’s Zombies franchise.

Jeffery appeared in Zombies (2018), Zombies 2 (2020) and Zombies 3 (2022), and also reprised the character through the franchise’s animated projects.

Her death has prompted an outpouring of tributes from fans and former colleagues.

“Carla. The sweetest person I have ever met. I love you,” her Zombies co-star Milo Manheim wrote in a tribute.

Chandler Kinney, another Zombies co-star, described Jeffery as “the brightest shining light” and “the kindest person” she had ever met.

Disney Entertainment Television also paid tribute to the actress, describing her talent, warmth and spirit as having left a lasting impact on those who worked with her and audiences who watched her performances.

Jeffery is survived by her twin brother, Carlon Jeffery, who is also an actor known for his role in Disney Channel’s A.N.T. Farm.
