Evans Eshun, the content creator and self-proclaimed prophet popularly known as Ebo Noah, has been remanded in police custody for two weeks following the adjournment of his case at the Adentan Circuit Court.
The court also directed that Ebo Noah undergo a psychiatric evaluation at the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital ahead of his next appearance, with the report expected to guide further proceedings. The case has been adjourned to January 16, 2026.
Ebo Noah, 33, had claimed in August 2025 that he received a divine revelation predicting a three-year-long global flood beginning on December 25, 2025. He said God instructed him to build an ark as a refuge for those seeking safety.
As Christmas approached, many Christians reportedly gathered at the ark’s location, anticipating the disaster. On December 24, 2025, he claimed the ark was about 80 per cent complete. However, when no flood occurred on Christmas Day, Ebo Noah announced a new revelation stating that the flood would no longer happen and instructed him to build additional arks.
Following the failed prophecy, the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team arrested him on December 31, 2025, in the Weija-Gbawe area of Accra while he was live-streaming online. Prosecutors charged him with false communication, deliberately misleading the public, and publishing false news—offences they say contravene Ghana’s criminal laws.
