Mojtaba Khamenei has called for compensation from the United States and Israel, insisting that Iran will seek accountability for damages and casualties resulting from recent hostilities.
In a statement broadcast on state television, Khamenei said Iran would pursue “blood money” for those killed and compensation for those injured. “By the grace of God, we will certainly not let go of the criminal aggressors who attacked our country,” he said.
He maintained that while Iran is not seeking war, it would not relinquish its rights and views all resistance groups aligned with it as part of a unified front. He also urged regional cooperation, stating that Iran was awaiting a response from neighbouring countries to demonstrate solidarity.
Khamenei further warned that Iran could shift its approach to managing the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping lane, as tensions continue to rise. He also encouraged pro-Iranian supporters to stage public demonstrations, noting that such actions could influence ongoing negotiations.
The statement comes amid heightened geopolitical strain following recent military developments involving the United States and its allies.
Meanwhile, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte acknowledged that some member states were slow to support U.S. actions in Iran, while praising Donald Trump for his leadership.
Reports also suggest that Washington has urged NATO allies to deploy naval forces to the Strait of Hormuz, warning that failure to act could affect future U.S. support for the alliance.
