Ex-Lawmaker who represented
Jos-South/Jos East in the 6th and 7th Assemblies, Bitrus Kaze, has hailed Governor
for owning up and apologising for his earlier comments about the
killings in Benue state.
Bitrus Kaze, expressing his thoughts said “that a Nigerian
politician of Governor Lalong’s ranking can muster the courage to own up
and publicly apologize to me is exceptional, exemplary and highly
commendable. He earned my respect”.
Already, many citizens have been pouring encomiums on the governor
for rare gesture of owning up and apologising –saying it is uncommon for
Nigerian politicians (particularly at the exalted position of Governor)
to eat the humble pie and say they were wrong.
Worthy of pointing out is the fact that, Hon Bitrus Kaze is of the
PDP party while, governor Lalong is of the APC –which suggests that our
democracy is maturing –with such bi-partisan comments.
