Former
Military President, retired General Ibrahim Babangida today gave his
blessings to the ambition of former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku
Abubakar, who is campaigning to be Nigeria’s President in 2019.
The Atiku Campaign Organisation (ACO) led by former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, told Newsmen
that Babangida gave his support to Atiku and prayed for him when the
presidential aspirant called at his Minna, Niger State residence today.
“IBB gave his support and prayed for the Atiku Abubakar 2019 Presidential project,” the campaign office stated.

The
former military ruler insisted during the meeting that power must shift
in 2019, stating that the only way this nation will move forward is to
vote out this government by 2019 and he sees the Peoples Democratic
Party PDP frontrunner as someone who has the capacity to displace the
incumbent.
He
said; “IBB is not happy with the way blood is flowing in the country,
he is particularly very saddened with the way innocent lives are being
wasted and the current government seems to be overwhelmed b the
situation and for him, power has to change hands”.
