Residents of Oshodi, Lagos, witnessed an unexpected scene on Wednesday when a young woman gave birth by the roadside.
Eyewitnesses said the woman was travelling from Ajah to an undisclosed destination when she went into sudden labour. The situation drew the attention of several nearby women, who quickly came together to assist her in delivering the baby safely.
One witness described the moment as “a clear act of God,” commending the swift response of the women who ensured both mother and child were unharmed.
Efforts to contact the woman’s husband were initially unsuccessful, but friends at the scene coordinated support until he arrived shortly after the delivery.
The atmosphere turned celebratory as passersby stopped to offer congratulations, while market women in the area hailed the birth as a blessing and a sign of divine favour for the community.
