A female suspect has been arrested in Malumfashi town, Katsina State, for being in possession of military gear and three loaded ammunition magazines.
The arrest was made during a joint security operation led by troops of Operation Fansan Yanma, who intercepted the woman at a routine checkpoint around 1:00 a.m., under suspicious circumstances as she attempted to leave the town.
A thorough search of her luggage reportedly uncovered a military uniform, camouflage trousers, a tactical jacket, multiple mobile phones, and three loaded magazines, along with other security-related items—all carefully concealed in her travel bag.
According to a security source who shared details via his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday evening, the suspect is currently in custody and is undergoing interrogation as investigations continue to trace her network and possible affiliations.
While her identity has not been officially disclosed, preliminary intelligence suggests she may be linked to a larger syndicate involved in supplying weapons and military equipment to terrorist groups operating in the region.
Security agencies have stepped up surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts in the area, as authorities work to determine the full scope of the woman’s activities and connections.
