Nigeria’s Super Falcons bounced back from their surprising defeat to Malawi with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zambia in their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Group C clash on Saturday.

The defending champions secured a vital three points in a closely contested encounter, with Asisat Oshoala scoring the game’s only goal in the 8th minute to hand Justin Madugu’s side the win.

The victory keeps Nigeria’s qualification hopes firmly in their own hands.
