Prominent Kannywood filmmaker and director Malam Aminu Saira has married a second wife.
The wedding ceremony took place on Friday, August 31, 2026, in Azare, Bauchi State, with family members, colleagues, fans and stakeholders in the Kannywood film industry in attendance.
The colourful Fatiha ceremony drew well-wishers from across Northern Nigeria, many of whom took to social media to congratulate the filmmaker and wish the couple a happy married life.
Following the ceremony, photographs of Aminu Saira with both his first and second wives circulated widely online, generating mixed reactions and renewed discussions about polygamy.
Commenting on one of the photos shared on Facebook, Aisha Lawal praised the filmmaker, describing him as an example of a man who treats his wives fairly.
She wrote:
“This is the perfect definition of a STRONG MAN. They do not allow the fear of their first wives to prevent them from doing the needful or hurt their second wives just to make their first wives happy. They exercise their power and authority as the head of the family to unite their first and second wives like this.”
