Troops of Sector 3, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have rescued a Nigerian Army corporal who was abducted at the Nigerian Army Training Centre (NATC), Miango Range, in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The soldier, identified as Corporal Amos Bala, was reportedly kidnapped on September 27, 2026, at the military training facility.
According to security sources, Bala regained his freedom at about 9 p.m. on September 28 following sustained pressure from troops operating in the area.
The rescue followed efforts by troops of Sector 3 OPEP to locate the soldier and secure his safe release.
Bala was reportedly injured while in captivity and was immediately evacuated to the NATC Medical Centre for medical attention.
He was subsequently treated and later rejoined his unit.
The incident comes amid heightened security concerns in parts of Plateau State, with security forces continuing operations aimed at tackling kidnapping and other security threats in affected communities.
The rescue of the soldier is part of ongoing operations by Sector 3 OPEP to strengthen security and respond to threats within its area of responsibility.
