In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Idris, the security situation in the state was highlighted as the central focus of the meeting.

Governor Lawal briefed the president on progress made in tackling insecurity and outlined areas requiring further intervention to achieve lasting peace.

President Tinubu, in response, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting Zamfara, including plans to enhance troop deployment and provide necessary equipment to strengthen security operations.

The governor also updated the president on the state’s economic performance, noting improvements in internally generated revenue, while seeking additional federal support to boost local businesses and create jobs.

The meeting was followed by a separate engagement between the president and governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
