The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The confirmation followed the consideration of his nomination during Thursday’s plenary session.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had nominated Darma a day earlier to join the Federal Executive Council, replacing Ahmed Musa Dangiwa as Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
During proceedings, Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the President’s communication and referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for expedited legislative consideration, directing it to report back promptly.
Prior to his nomination, Darma served as Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
