Veteran Showbiz Impresario Seemo Da Black Czar has voiced out his dismay on the way Jos radio stations continue to treat local talent.
Seemo, the one-time Jos music mystro who featured the likes of Idris Abdulkareem, said that Jos radio stations must have the strategy of giving back to the local community as most of them run on locally sourced revenue.
He further lashed out the act of collecting money from the local artist when international or nationally known acts get their songs played for free.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH JOS RADIO STATIONS.
It is a fact that the music, talent and creativity industry always grows when local talented acts are promoted hook, line and sinker.
The local radio and television stations that make their profit from the state they operate their businesses must as a matter of corporate social responsibility promote talents in their immediate environment and not exploit them.
when you listen to most of the radio stations in Jos, hardly will you hear them promote the avalanche of local talents we have in every street, nook and cranny of the home of peace & tourism.
However, if any Lagos or American artiste that doesn’t even know they exist coughs or slips on a banana peel or kiss their baby mama, they are all over the radio giving us celebrity gossips that they get out of the internet especially on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, that adds no value to the growth of “THE INDUSTRY” or “INDUSTREETZ” my coinage in 2007.
The worst part is they dont receive a dime from these artists that are already made celebrities.
but they collect monies from Jos-based artists to feature on the song of the week or to promote them. How will these young hustling lads make it to the top?Yes, music is serious business, but there must be deliberate efforts to support local talented artists to grow in their own state so that they can have a platform to excel.
let’s be creative on radio and not follow the trends, let’s make our own trend.
