Thailand’s Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavati has died at the age of 47, the royal palace announced, ending nearly four years in which she had remained in a coma following a cardiac-related collapse in December 2022.

She reportedly fell unconscious while training dogs for a competition and was later diagnosed with a severe heart condition complicated by infections and organ-related complications during her prolonged hospitalisation in Bangkok.

Her death has been described by Thai authorities as a profound national loss, with tributes pouring in from officials and citizens as the country mourns the passing of the eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn and a prominent figure in the royal family.
