The Edo State Government has announced the reopening of schools that were earlier closed due to security concerns in parts of the state.

Public and private schools affected by the June 9, 2026 closure order are expected to resume academic activities on June 15, 2026, following a review of the security situation in collaboration with relevant security agencies.

According to the Ministry of Education, the decision was reached after a reassessment showed improved conditions, with additional security measures now deployed across affected communities and school environments to protect students, teachers, and staff.

School authorities have been directed to ensure proper preparations for resumption, while parents and guardians have been encouraged to send their wards back to school, with assurances that safety arrangements have been strengthened.
