The Super Falcons of Nigeria produced a dominant second-half display to secure a comfortable 3–0 victory over Senegal on Monday night, June 8, in Ikenne.

Despite early pressure, Nigeria were wasteful in front of goal in the first half, creating several chances without converting them.

Washington Spirit forward Gift Monday had the first clear opportunity of the match, but her effort was saved, while Joy Omewa also came close after being played through by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, with her strike coming off the upright.

The breakthrough came shortly after the restart when Omewa rose highest to head home the opener, giving Nigeria a deserved lead. She doubled the advantage in the 55th minute with a composed finish to complete her brace and put the Super Falcons firmly in control.

Head coach Justin Madugu made changes in the 63rd minute, introducing Asisat Oshoala and Folashade Ijamilusi, and the impact was immediate.

Just three minutes later, Oshoala added the third goal, calmly finishing after being set up by Ajibade to seal the victory.

Nigeria continued to press for more goals but were unable to extend the scoreline further, comfortably seeing out the win against the Teranga Lionesses.

The result extends the Super Falcons’ strong record against Senegal and underlines their growing momentum in recent international fixtures.
