Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) has completed the six-month suspension slammed on her by the Senate on March 6, 2025, clearing the way for her return to plenary.
The outspoken lawmaker was barred from legislative duties, denied entry into the National Assembly, and stripped of access to official resources after being accused of breaching Senate rules.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, however, repeatedly dismissed the sanction as politically motivated, insisting it stemmed from her petition accusing Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Her suspension triggered weeks of tension within the National Assembly, peaking in July when she stormed the complex with her lawyers, waving a court judgment she claimed ordered her recall.
With the suspension now elapsed, all eyes are on how her re-entry into the chamber will unfold, particularly against the backdrop of her unresolved friction with the Senate leadership.
