Some beneficiaries of the Hon. Dachung Bagos Scholarship Scheme have achieved a major milestone as they were officially inducted as Medical Laboratory Scientists by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN). The induction ceremony was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the College of Medical Sciences, University of Jos Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Lamingo.
The fully funded scholarship scheme, which sponsors students from their first year through to graduation, recorded four new inductees in its second cohort: Esther Atong, Ibrahim Mamman Pate, Hannatu Agwom, and Nyam Choji. More beneficiaries are expected to complete their studies and graduate in the coming academic session.
Initiated by Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, the scheme is one of several educational interventions he supports, covering secondary, tertiary, and postgraduate levels.
In a goodwill message, the new inductees expressed deep appreciation to Bagos, describing the initiative as life-transforming. They noted that the scheme demonstrates inclusivity and equity, equipping the next generation of leaders even beyond Bagos’s tenure in office.
According to Dafwam Yakubu Danja, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Rt. Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, the program underscores the former lawmaker’s commitment to human capital development and access to quality education for all.
