Rotary Club of Naraguta in Plateau presents Vocational Service Award to deserving Nigerians (Photos)

The Rotary Club of Naraguta District 9125 of Nigeria in its usual tradition of giving back to the society, On Wednesday 31st January 2018, honored and recognized the efforts of some exceptional individuals with a Vocational Service Award and also a cash reward.

Rotarian Theresa O Eyetan, Club President said the aim of such awards was to inspire enthusiasm to achievers in various fields of
vocations 

Rev. Sister of Holy Christ of Jesus(Ganaka International School) was the first awardee and was awarded in recognition and appreciation of he r vocational diligence as a vehicle of providing opportunity for self-actualization in respect of children with special needs.

Mrs Tonia Livinus was the second to be awarded and it was in recognition and appreciation of her diligence in her profession as a Female commercial Tri-Cycle Operator in Jos Plateau State and for setting a good example for professional excellence.

 

Sisters of the Holy Child of Jesus( Ganaka International School) We recognized and appreciate their care for Children with special needs, this they do with the limited resources at their disposal. 3 of the Sisters were present, with 1 Management staff and an exceedingly brilliant Student of the school who unfortunately is blind, She threw us all off balance with her appreciation speech.
 Mrs Tonia Livinus, A woman who was widowed at 26 Years, with 4 Children ranging from age 1- 7 years at that time,  3 of the Children were present yesterday, she had to struggle to train her kids, she happens to be the first  female motorcycle operator in Jos, now drives a tricycle ( keke) and training her kids with 3 of them now in higher institutions.

It is a non-political and non-sectarian organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 member clubs worldwide, and 1.2 million individuals, known as Rotarians, have joined.

  Rotarians usually gather weekly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to fulfill their first guiding principle to develop friendships as an opportunity for service. “It is the duty of all Rotarians,” states their Manual of Procedure[2] “outside their clubs, to be active as individuals in as many legally constituted groups and organizations as possible to promote, not only in words but through exemplary dedication, awareness of the dignity of all people and the respect of the consequent human rights of the individual.” The Rotarian’s primary motto is “Service Above Self”; its secondary motto is “One profits most who serves best.
