On Tuesday Protesters stormed the headquarters of the Nigerian
Television Authority, NTA and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN in Abuja ,
insisting President Muhammadu Buhari was well and alive.

The protesters, under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society Groups,
CSOs, numbering over 200, said Buhari’s rumoured death was the
handiwork of blackmailers and mischief makers.

The protest grounded vehicular activities around the premises for about two hours.

They displayed placards with inscriptions such as: ‘No country
thrives on rumours and corruption’, ‘Let’s support anti- corruption’,
‘In unity, we will end recession’, ‘Buhari is not dead but alive.’

Other inscriptions included: ‘Nigerians, let’s pray for Buhari’s
quick recovery’, ‘Recession will be over soon, blame past leaders’, ‘We
pass a vote of confidence on CBN.’

President of the coalition and renowned civil rights activist, Etuk
Bassey Williams, during the protest, urged Nigerians to pray for quick
recovery of the President to avoid any eventuality, rather than play
politics with his death.

According to him, Nigeria cannot develop if the citizens continue to seek the downfall of its leaders.
