The Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN) on Monday 20th 2021 inaugurated it’s newly elected officials.
The Inauguration was well attended by notable personalities, Peace Practitioners, Civil Society Organizations, Government and Security agencies held at Tekan Conference Hall in Jos, Plateau state.
Delivering his inaugural speech, incoming PPPN chairman, Mr. Pwakim Jacob Choji, thanked the electoral process which he described as transparent led by Dr Emanuel Ande and further acknowledged the efforts of the inaugural committee led by the Networks first chairperson, Comrade Godwin Okoko
While appreciating all for their relentless support, he noted that Governance is a continuous process and went on to thank the outgoing chairman, Mr. Mugu Zakka Bako and his team for serving effectively for the period of 2 years and 5 months.

Mr Pwakim said that the position was an opportunity to serve, to be inclusive, sensitive, transparent, consultative, accountable, available and proactive.
He stated that his dispensation will work on building on the efforts of past leaders as such efforts will be focused on the following;
- Strengthening the Networks accountability mechanism, which will see a review of internal control processes to build confidence and guide against any form of mutual suspicion.
- Strengthening the reputation and capacity of the Network as a strategic platform of actors on the Plateau, which will help amplify each members organizations efforts and positioning of the network to become more relevant in understanding and addressing the current challenges caused by the legacies of crises and emerging conflicts and common communal attacks being experienced.
- Strengthening relationships across generations and the members of the network which will allow for positive impact and help in supporting the work. As the PPPN is open to collaboration and partnership and any other kind of support while noting that the Network is not a project implementation platform but for support and monitoring consortiums formed under the MOU that defines its solidarity.
He noted that the new dispensation will come into office with a strong responsibility to deliver the peace and security commitment area of the Plateau open Government partnership where the PPPN is implementing with the Plateau Peace Building Agency.
While appreciating the willingness of the Plateau state Government under the leadership of Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong, for committing to transparency, accountability and inclusiveness, also noted the commitment of the civil society forum led by Gad Peter Shamaki.

Out going chairman Mr. Mugu Zakka Bako while also delivering his farewell remarks, stated that Leadership is ordained by God and leaders are chosen by God as such this was a step in the right direction. He commended the out going EXCOs for their support during his tenure and encouraged the new team to do more.
The Plateau Peace Practitioners Network is the coordinating body for all legitimate local and international nongovernmental organizations/ civil society organizations working in the area of peace and security in Plateau state.
