Following the recent resurgence of violence in parts of Jos North, The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, today met with heads of the various security agencies to review the situation within Jos.

Following the latest resurgence of violence in some parts of the state capital, Jos, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon Simon Bako Lalong, has held a security meeting with heads of security agencies in the state.

The meeting, which was held with a view to reviewing the prevailing security situation within Jos, was attended by the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Mr Undie Adie, the Commander of the Special Task, Major-General Augustine Agundu, Director of the State Security Council, Babagana Bulama and Commander of Operation Rainbow, Major-General Steve Guar (rtd).

While the government and the security agencies are currently working round the clock to ensure an immediate return to normalcy, Governor Lalong has urged residents of the state capital to beware of the circulation of fake news in the social media by crisis merchants aimed at escalating the crisis and to always cross-check every piece of information they get.

The Governor also implores all the people of the state to be security conscious and carefully watch the activities and movement of suspicions persons within their environment with a view to promptly reporting same to relevant security personnel for decisive action.

The Governor further charges security agencies to exhibit professionalism in the course of their duty and observe the rules of engagement in their efforts to maintain law and order.
