Several
dignitaries including the Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong and top
military officers both serving and retired were all present at the
funeral service and burial of the Late General John Nanzip Shagaya.
The
Former Economic Community of West African States Monitoring Group,
ECOMOG, Commander and former Senator representing Plateau South, Late
General John Shagaya, was finally laid to rest on 16th March, 2018 at
his hometown Langtang, following his painful demise after a motor
accident that occurred while he was on his way to Langtang, Plateau
State. He was recently appointed Chairman of National Institute for
Policy and Strategy Studies, NIPSS, by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Shagaya was a former Minister of Internal Affairs. He was born on
September 2, 1942.
