Personality Profile: Elvis Chibiko Chukwu – Rotary President District 9125

Honorable Chief Elvis Chubiko Chukwu was recently installed as the 10th Rotary District 9125 Governor, a district controlling 23 States in Nigeria including the FCT. Check out his personal profile below…

Elvis has been a Rotarian since 1991 and was a Rotaractor both in the University and Community based, He held several District Rotaract positions that earned him so many awards and recognitions.

He holds a Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies and in the verge of concluding his Ph.D thesis in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos.  He also schooled at the Prestigious Institute of Public Safety in Tallahassee Florida USA where he obtained a Certificate in Forensic Investigation (Crime Scene and Evidence Documentation).

Beyond this, he has attended many trainings, courses, seminars and workshops, both within and outside Nigeria.  He oversees and chairs the board of three (3) companies namely Public Announcement Ltd, KG & T Ltd, and Modern Procurement Integrated Services Ltd and serves as an Executive Director of an NGO – Sustainable Food Security Initiative in Africa.

He is also the Project coordinator Nigeria – Wheels of Hope USA, which have donated thousands of Wheel chairs to Polio survivors across Nigeria for free.

 

Elvis is also a member of the Nigeria National Polio Plus Committee. He consults for many other NGOs.

Elvis has served as Club President, Asst. Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Zonal Coordinator and Chaired Several District Committees, recording great successes in all these assignment; he also served in the former D9120 as District Chair – Public Relations in 2005/06 Rotary year.

Elvis is a former Group Study Exchange (GSE) Team Leader to Illinois USA and single handedly pioneered the Charter of D9125 Alumni Society in 2015, he has attended more than 12 International Conventions, Several Institutes & Presidential Summits across the globe. He is widely traveled and has numerous Awards both from within and outside the Rotary Circle. He is a distinguished resource person in Rotary having facilitated so many Seminars and Conferences.

An Alumnus of Rotary Foundation, Member Cadre of Rotary and belongs to several Rotary Action Groups. He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigeria Institute of Management, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria and The Nigeria Shippers Council. 

 

Outside the business world and Rotary circle, Elvis as he is fondly called is a distinguished and outstanding community leader having served his people in so many capacities. He has served as President Imo Community Association Plateau State, Chairman Council of State Presidents Igbo State Community Associations in Plateau State. Currently serving as an Ex-officio member and adviser to Igbo Community Association, Jos.

Elvis is the current Secretary of Izu – Umunna Cultural Association of Nigeria, an affiliate of OhanezeNdigbo and an Igbo think – tank group for Igbo’s living in the Nineteen (19) Northern States of Nigeria and FCT. He is serving a second tenure as the Secretary General of this organization. 

 

He has also had the rare privilege of serving in many Ohaneze Standing and Adhoc Committees, the last being a Member of 2016 Ohaneze Electoral Committee headed by Prof. Anya O. Anya that produced Dr. NniaNwodo the current Distinguished President–General of OhanezeNdigbo.

He is a member of Igbo Studies Association, USA. He is a 2018 recipient of Award for excellence and listed in the compendium of WHO is WHO in Plateau State. He was recently honored by the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria with the prestigious Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Leadership Award as the GarkuwanMatasanArewaNajeriya. 

Elvis currently holds an appointment as SSA to the Executive Governor of Plateau. He has two Chieftaincy Titles, one from his home town Okigwe, Imo State and one by the Igbo Community living in Plateau State. Elvis is happily married with 6 lovely children.
