Nigerian fintech company Paystack has terminated the employment of its co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, following allegations of sexual misconduct. Olubi disclosed the development on his personal blog over the weekend.
According to Olubi, the decision to remove him came before the completion of the company’s independent investigation into the claims. He stated that his legal team is now reviewing the process leading to his termination.
“On Saturday, 22 November 2025, I was informed that my employment had been terminated. My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies. They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time,” Olubi wrote.
Earlier, Paystack had suspended Olubi following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a colleague. The controversy first gained traction in mid-November 2025 after a viral social media post accused Olubi of abusive behaviour, prompting the resurfacing of explicit tweets from his past.
