Tinubu Submits 32 Additional Ambassadorial Nominees to Senate
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has transmitted a fresh list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for confirmation, days after submitting an initial batch of three.
In two letters addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President sought swift consideration and approval for 15 career ambassadors and 17 non-career ambassadors. The list includes four women among the career nominees and six women among the non-career nominees.

- Yakubu N. Gambo, former Plateau Commissioner and ex-UBEC Deputy Executive Secretary
- Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut, former Senator (Plateau)
- Otunba Femi Pedro, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State

Expected Postings
Once confirmed, the nominees will be posted to countries with significant diplomatic ties to Nigeria, including China, India, South Korea, Canada, Mexico, the UAE, Qatar, South Africa, and Kenya. They may also be assigned to multilateral missions such as the United Nations, UNESCO, and the African Union.
The new list follows the President’s earlier submission of three nominees—Ambassador Ayodele Oke (Oyo), Ambassador Amin Mohammed Dalhatu (Jigawa), and Retired Colonel Lateef Kayode Are (Ogun)—who are being considered for postings to the United Kingdom, United States, or France.
President Tinubu added that more ambassadorial nominations will be announced subsequently.
