The National President of the Berom Educational and Cultural Organisation (BECO), Da Gyang Dudu Dalyop, has been honoured for his outstanding contributions to community development and support for the church, during the dedication and launching of the newly completed COCIN Church LCC Sott in Vwang, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.

The event, which took place on Sunday, 30 November 2025, drew worshippers and well-wishers from within and outside the community. The church auditorium, which had been under construction for over a decade, was finally completed through Dalyop’s significant financial involvement.
Shortly after receiving the award, Dalyop extended yet another gesture of goodwill by supporting over 100 widows in Vwang community, distributing wrappers and financial assistance to enable them prepare for the coming Christmas season.
Speaking after the presentation, Da Gyang Dudu expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.
“This is an award I will cherish for life because it comes from my root. My people appreciate the little efforts I have made to transform lives in this community,” he said.
Da Dudu revealed that his empowerment initiative for widows was part of a continuous commitment to uplifting the community, adding that he plans to take up a new project which involves the development of a primary school in the area. He also disclosed that several students within and outside the community are currently benefitting from his private scholarship initiative.
“Education is not a scam. I came from a humble background and education made the difference for me. I want more young people from this community to shine,” he stated.
On national issues, the BECO President, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of the Natives, (PIDAN), criticized the Federal Government’s handling of insecurity, describing it as lacking political will. He called for a more decisive and holistic approach towards tackling the root causes of violence across Plateau State and the Middle Belt region.
During the service, Reverend Joshua Davou Gyang, Chairman of the RCC Vwang, delivered a sermon titled “God’s Celebration of God’s Faithfulness” taken from Isaiah 46:4. He emphasized the importance of gratitude, trust in God’s provision, and continual faithfulness among believers.

Also speaking at the event, Plateau State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Davou Jatau Gyang, commended Dalyop for his service to humanity.
“Not everyone has the privilege to build a temple for God. Da Gyang Dudu has contributed immensely to this church and to the Berom nation. His impact spans mentorship, community support, and cultural preservation,” he said.

A posthumous award was also presented to the late Ngo Rachael Gyang Davou for her past contributions to the church and community. Presenting the award, Reverend Joshua Mandyel and Reverend Philip Gyang described both recipients as exemplary figures whose service continues to inspire many.
The ceremony concluded as Da Gyang Dudu went on to distribute wrappers to widows, who expressed joy and appreciation for the gesture, marking yet another memorable day of faith, community, and compassion in Vwang.
