The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and several independent marketers have once again reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at filling stations across Abuja.

According to Daily Post, NNPCL retail outlets in the Federal Capital Territory adjusted their pump price to ₦915 per litre, down from ₦920, representing a ₦5 reduction.

Similarly, marketers such as MRS and BOVAS have reviewed their prices to ₦910 per litre, a significant drop from the ₦945 previously recorded at some stations.

Other major outlets—including AYM Shafa, NIPCO, Optima, Mobil, Ranoil, and Empire—are currently dispensing petrol within a price range of ₦920 to ₦937 per litre.

Ex-Depot Prices Also Drop

The reduction follows declines in ex-depot prices, with the latest figures showing:

  • Dangote Refinery — ₦824.50 per litre
  • Eterna — ₦823 per litre
  • Aiteo — ₦823 per litre
  • BOVAS — ₦822 per litre

Industry analysts say the downward trend in ex-depot prices is influencing retail adjustments, making PMS slightly more affordable for consumers.

Third Reduction in Two Weeks

This marks the third fuel price reduction recorded by NNPCL and other marketers in the past two weeks. NNPCL had previously adjusted pump prices twice, amounting to a cumulative reduction of ₦30 from the earlier price of ₦945 per litre.

The latest adjustment comes as Nigerians continue to grapple with inflation and rising transportation costs, offering slight relief amid economic pressures.
