The Delta State chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association has confirmed that the cancer medical report being circulated by social media influencer Blessing “CEO” Okoro was falsified.
In a statement released on April 1, the association clarified that the report, allegedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics, actually belongs to another patient. Dr. O.A. Odigwe, proprietor of the lab and a consultant pathologist, confirmed that the test result was issued in May 2025 for a patient named Mara Deborah and was not connected to Blessing Okoro.
The NMA statement explained that a copy of Deborah’s report had been circulated online by a law firm, Allen Juris Law, and had been altered to appear as if it belonged to Blessing.
The association called the public’s attention to the falsification, emphasizing the importance of integrity in medical reporting and warning against taking undue advantage of unsuspecting individuals.
Blessing had earlier claimed she was battling stage-four cancer and solicited donations from Nigerians, reportedly raising over ₦12 million. The NMA has urged law enforcement authorities to intervene and ensure that those responsible for the falsification are held accountable.
“This clarification is necessary in view of what the altered report is now being used for,” the statement said. “The integrity of our association and its members is paramount and should not be taken for granted.”
