The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that its air component under Operation HADIN KAI carried out precision airstrikes in the Yuwe axis of Sambisa Forest, resulting in the deaths of several terrorists.

In a statement issued in Abuja, NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation was conducted on Monday, April 20, following credible intelligence.

He explained that intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions had identified the presence of террорист elements within fortified structures and bunkers in the area.

According to him, NAF air assets engaged the identified targets using precision munitions, destroying the structures, neutralising multiple террористs, and disrupting key logistics facilities. He added that the outcome was confirmed through a post-strike battle damage assessment.

Ejodame noted that sustained air operations in the North-East continue to weaken terrorist networks, increasing pressure on the groups and limiting their operational capacity.

He also quoted the Chief of the Air Staff, Sunday Aneke, as reaffirming the force’s commitment to ongoing, intelligence-driven operations aimed at eliminating terrorist threats.

Aneke stated that the NAF would continue to intensify precision strikes while adhering to established rules of engagement and taking measures to minimise civilian harm.
