President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife and First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as she marks her 66th birthday.
In a heartfelt birthday message, Tinubu described his wife as his “truest friend and confidante,” praising her for standing by him through difficult and uncertain periods of their life together.
The President said Oluremi had walked beside him with “patience, grace and uncommon courage,” adding that she had often shared his burdens and understood thoughts he could not put into words.
“Through all these years, you have remained the one who truly understands me,” Tinubu said.
He also praised the First Lady for her willingness to offer him honest counsel, even when her words were difficult to hear.
“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.
Tinubu recalled the role Oluremi has played in their family, saying their children and grandchildren had grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values.
The President also acknowledged his wife’s humanitarian activities, highlighting her work through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.
According to Tinubu, her efforts have touched the lives of young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country. He also praised her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other illnesses.
Reflecting on their years together, the President said their journey had been marked by difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.
He said that if he had the opportunity to start life again, he would make the same choice.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you,” he said.
Tinubu thanked his wife for the life they had built together and prayed for her continued good health and happiness.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” he said.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu was born on September 21, 1960. She served as First Lady of Lagos State during Tinubu’s tenure as governor and later represented Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly before becoming Nigeria’s First Lady in 2023.
