Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Chief Bode George, has expressed frustration over the challenges faced by his children in securing employment in Nigeria, saying they are often denied opportunities because of his name.

Speaking during a radio interview on Nigeria Info FM 99.3, George decried the worsening state of hunger and anger across the country, noting that both graduates and non-graduates were facing bleak prospects.

“Today in Nigeria, everywhere there is hunger and anger. Forget about me being in the PDP — the base of the pyramid is what really matters,” he said.

According to him, successive governments have failed to create meaningful opportunities for the younger generation. “Graduates are floating — no future, no hope. Non-graduates are doing nothing,” he lamented.

George urged President Bola Tinubu to establish a special intervention fund to empower unemployed youths, particularly those without formal education or vocational skills.

“I suggested that Mr. President should set up a special fund to ensure that those who didn’t train in any skill can be empowered, and provide micro-credit for young graduates who want to start a business,” he stated.

The PDP leader also criticized the decision to solicit donations for the construction of a national library, saying the funds could have been redirected toward youth empowerment.

“Recently, the First Lady announced plans to build a national library and called for contributions. That fund should have been initiated by the President, asking those who donated billions to banks to support youth development,” he said.

George further revealed that his own children, despite being qualified graduates, have struggled to find employment because of his political identity.

“The younger generation in this country, including my own children who graduated a long time ago, have returned and tried to get a job, but they can’t because their name is Bode George,” he lamented.
