Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has openly criticized UEFA following its tribute to late Palestinian football icon Suleiman Al-Obeid, widely known as the “Palestinian Pele.”

UEFA had posted a message announcing Al-Obeid’s death, but Salah took to Instagram to question the omission of key details.
“Can you tell us how he died. Where and why,” the Egyptian star wrote, urging the football body to disclose the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Al-Obeid, 41, was a celebrated attacker who played for clubs in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and the Palestinian national team. Reports indicate he died in southern Gaza while seeking aid for himself and his family.

Salah’s remarks make him the first high-profile footballer to publicly challenge UEFA’s statement on the incident.
