The campaign organization of Paul Masiyer has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress primary election for the Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency, describing the exercise as flawed and inconsistent with the party’s guidelines and the Electoral Act.

In a press statement signed by Darjuma Haruna Namang on behalf of the campaign organization, the group faulted the declaration of Ishaya David Lalu as winner of the APC primary election.

The campaign alleged that direct primaries were not conducted across the wards in Mangu and Bokkos local government areas as required by the Electoral Act 2026, the APC Constitution, and guidelines for nomination of candidates.

According to the statement, party members, supporters, and agents of AVM Paul Masiyer reportedly gathered peacefully at designated centres awaiting electoral officials and voting materials, which they claimed never arrived.

The group maintained that no election took place in several wards and described the emergence of results from such areas as unacceptable and contrary to democratic principles and internal party justice.

“It is shocking, unacceptable, and contrary to every principle of democracy and internal party justice for results to emerge from wards where no voting exercise took place,” the statement read.

The campaign organization further described the reported outcome as a subversion of the democratic process and an assault on the integrity of the APC.

It disclosed that steps had already been initiated through the party’s internal appeal mechanisms to challenge the result and seek redress over what it termed injustice against party members.

While reaffirming commitment to peace, order, and unity within the APC, the group warned against what it described as imposition, exclusion, and manipulation in the conduct of party primaries.

The statement also expressed sadness over the reported death of one Abba Sani Zaki of Kasuwan Ali Ward in Gindiri Chiefdom, Mangu Local Government Area, during protests linked to dissatisfaction over the outcome of the primary election.

The campaign extended condolences to the family and community of the deceased and called on security agencies to exercise professionalism, restraint, and respect for human life in handling political situations.

The group also appealed to supporters and party faithful across the constituency to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding while awaiting the outcome of the party’s appeal process.

The APC had earlier declared Ishaya David Lalu winner of the Mangu/Bokkos House of Representatives primary election after polling 33,290 votes in the exerciseImg 20260517 wa0012
