Ishaya David Lalu has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress direct primary election for the Mangu/Bokkos House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lalu, who is the incumbent member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, secured a total of 33,290 votes in the just concluded primaries to clinch the party’s ticket for a second term bid.
The results were announced in Mangu by the returning officers for the exercise, Mr. Wumen Peter for Mangu and Mr. David Joseph for Bokkos.
According to the results declared, Dr. Elkanah polled 1,075 votes, while AVM Paul secured 2,115 votes. Another contestant, Titus, scored 1,427 votes.
Lalu’s victory officially confirms him as the APC candidate for the Mangu/Bokkos Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
The direct primary election attracted participation from party members across Mangu and Bokkos local government areas, with supporters of the various aspirants awaiting the official declaration of results.
