La Liga Giants, Real Madrid on Sunday, defeated Malaga 2-0 to win the 2016/2017 La Liga title.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened scoring as early as the second minute of the
encounter, before Karim Benzema added the second 10 minutes after the
break. It is Madrid’s first league crown in five years.
Zinedine Zidane’s men had to wait until the final round of fixtures
to be confirmed winners, as Barcelona ran them close up till the end.
Although the Catalans came from behind to defeat Eibar 4-2 at the Nou
Camp, they could only finish second, failing to defend the title they
won last year.
Zidane will be hoping to complete the double, when his side takes on
Juventus in the Champions League final on June 3 in Cardiff.
