Governor Caleb Mutfwang has been declared the APC governorship candidate for Plateau State after securing a landslide victory in the party’s primary elections.
The Plateau State Governor dominated the polls in all 17 local government areas, securing a total of 233,335 votes against Yilchini Bida’s 3,070 votes.
The All Progressives Congress on Friday night declared Governor Caleb Mutfwang as the winner of its governorship primary held in Plateau State on Wednesday.
The Chairman of the APC Committee for the Plateau State House of Assembly and Governorship Primary, Fidelis Mnyim, declared the results at the state party Secretariat in Jos on Friday night after the committee finalised returns from the 17 local government areas of the state.
According to the committee chairman, Mutfwang secured the majority of support from party members across the state, paving the way for his adoption under the APC platform.
The results showed that Mutfwang won in all 17 LGAs of the state, while his only opponent, Yilcini Bida, a retired military officer, trailed far behind in all the votes scored
